Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Aww. Love your rain boots! And the fact that you're catching frogs already!

Our Pacific Tree Frogs just woke up last weekend. I'm so happy to hear their singing again!

When we first moved into our home ~ the 1st night was a CACOPHONY of FROGS !! So loud it permeated our home in song..... Ahhhh to remember our first night in our home. Now I welcome the orchestra of amphibians, I look forward to it each year, They let me know when spring is here, or near at least!

LOL Jaz, are you putting a curse or a blessing on me?

My sweet hubby made me a more secure outdoor pen for my older duckies. They look so happy out there. I will have to take a pic.

Quackers, love your mass posting moments!

I get 1st pick & thats it!

I need to keep reminding myself that I am going to be hatching again from the same stock soon. If I let a couple blue and blacks go, I can keep from the next batch. I don't have any black runners, which is why I wanted to keep them.

Of course, I'm also kinda miffed that the buyer asked me to save her four and then changed her mind to two after the fact. Sheesh. I need to get over it. But selling four babies keeps my adults in feed for two weeks. Trying to be logical, but its so hard when faced with cute little fuzzy butts.

Oh no!!! Exploding eggs are my greatest fear!

Happened just once to me or should I say CHICKSOhMY !!! LMAO
I almost had a few more at that time with a few turkeys & a couple goose! But ChicksO candles them & we got them out. But I have never heard of a quail egg exploding!

Yes. I felt the same way when we moved into our place. We have a seasonal pond, so it's a froggie frat party out there!

I wish I could hear them through my window, but since we replaced the windows, you can't hear them unless its warm enough to keep the bedroom window open.

My four year old crawled into bed with us last night, so I feel your pain. They're all knees, elbows and hard head at that age!

At 7 they are still knees & elbows ! Luv the elbow to the boob when they climb in your hooky/! (yes its a funny family thing, we call our lap the hooky! Don't know where it came from)

Hey guys. Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday afternoon. The weather here is wonderful, so I took our goslings outside for their first time. They did not seem to like it, unless I was inside the pen with them. Ah well, maybe they are still too young at 16 days old.

Here are a couple of pics (as promised).

How big is your incubator? Those aren't small eggs. Can you lift 300-500 lbs?

QJ- What if you get a bull egg? Are you forgetting your own hatching rules?

I haven't had an egg explode yet, but I have had a few quail eggs start seeping.

I'm glad the only child in our house is a 10 month old Olde English Bulldoggie and he's crate trained!!

The joys of being Grandma... a full night sleep (when hubby doesn't snore to loud)
