Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Guess what?? I went to turn my eggs that are in with my day 24 eggs, and I heard one peep! I quickly candled and saw that 4 are either already internally pipped or about to pip! So I quickly moved the last of my day 20 eggs into goose bator (and my 2 pidgey eggs propped upright) and am now starting to slowly boost humidity. That little egg peeped loudly at me the whole time I was rearranging everyone for hatching.... and it's BLUE!

Man Julie, your geese are getting big! And goose-like!

I know. I can't wait until they lose their baby fuzz. They are still only about the size of my big ducklings, who are only about 4 lbs max. And they are fat and squishy, not muscle like the ducks so I don't even think they weigh that much. So they are only 1/3 to 1/2 the size they'll be.

Yay! More babies!

Thanks guys for making this even more fun because I can share with you! I am excited!!

Question: Will my eggs with fluid be able to internally pip if they are in a vertical position??

Julie, your goslings look so big! I guess the end is near for my little ones... good thing as my adult pair have taken up residence in my front yard to be near them.

Do they still have fluid? It's usually gone in mine by lockdown and I set them on their sides. Maybe lean them more to the side, but the big end still up a bit? If it's not very much I would just set them on their sides.

I was just candling my ducks for tomarrows lock down. So odd, air on top, nice angel, fluid on the bottem, with some vessels, dark in the middle. Due Saturday. Hmm....

The Anconas might internally pip today?!? I was thinking I had until Thursday. No? Don't you keep turning until day 26?

I guess my turn for hatching is getting close... today is day 24 for my 8 "take a chance" ancona and 2 pidgey eggs. I expect the first eggs will internally pip at some point today.
