I have 6 healthy little EE chicks. I eggtopsied the other 4. There were perfectly formed chicks but a lot of fluid so I'm guessing they quit just before lockdown. At least this has boosted my confidence in myself incubating. My broody and my incubator chicks hatched at the same time, 2 of the quitters were broody eggs and 3 were incubator eggs. Since mine and her hatch had about even results it makes me pretty sure this was the post office's fault and not my lack of incubation skills.
Sorry about your duckling DG. Looks like a ruptured yolk sac to me, which could be from helping him out too early or he could have kicked the wrong spot and did it his own I think. Either way, at least it's a learning experience and will help you improve future hatches. At least, that's what I tell myself on bad hatches.
Got most of my garden in this morning. Need to clean the coop today, it's a muddy mess and I need to baby proof it for the chicks when they come out.
