I hope they get well so they can be discharged from the hospital soon.

I can't remember...did you have these guys under a broody hen?

dutch yea i had 17 eggs split between 2 hens (6 under 1 and 11 under the other)
1 eggs blood ringed ealry on. and one never had its air cell drop.
all these guys except 2 ext pipped on their own.
but after 24 hrs of no progress i brought them all inside to assist,
everyone had varrying degrees of shrink wrap.

Ok...that's what I thought I remembered. I want broodies bad...think they would do a better job than my incubator. They definitely gave you a good hatch rate.

yes they did 88%
5 hatch rate this time.
we will see how wednesday hatch goes lol.
and i have eggs in the bator. started off with 21. i think im down to 10 .
like 7 of them blood ringed. 4 were clear.
and the rugrats busted 1. popped it right outa the bator when i opened it, i wasnt fast enuff to catch the egg and the baby.

my first hatch under a broody only yielded 1 baby. i sat 5 eggs. 3 were clear, and 1 never started to hatch.
my first bator hatch. 15 of 19 eggs made it to lockdown. only 3 babies hatched (with assistance) one died from leg issues.

well ok here it goes.11 hahhpy HEALTHY babies in brooder (and 1 flippy lol)
as you can see flippy is the one with his legs out bhind him.

one of the grey babies,

hershey. the only black baby.

there are 3 blue babies they are much lighter and not brown than the pic

and introducing flippy.
he was fine all night so him and his buddy got put in the brooder. and now he keeps falling on his back, but can get himself over
his legs only go like this when he moves. they dont go out behind him tho. he gets around good. just gets ahead of himself and flips over.

now for the ICU babies

this is baby #1. his leg goes out to the side.
and is very weak. and barely moves.
baby #2s (baby in bottom cup of above pic) right leg goes out behind him. but he can hold his head up and peeps..

baby #3. just lays in the bottom of the cup barely breathing.

very cute! and i hope for a speedy recovery for the icu babies

Ok...so I was going to get blue Runner eggs, but with incubation/hatching not going well, I decided to go ahead and get ducklings. I have 5 females, and a drake coming on the 16th. I have a lonely black drake that will love having some of his own kind....if I can convince him he truly isn't a sebastopol! I have one Call duckling that is supposed to hatch on the 17th, so if it hatches, it will need buddies and these guys will fit the bill.

i just opened and threw away 8 fully formed dead babies

i almost gave up and threw them all away but i would feel worse if i threw away a live baby, and the last 2 had live babies, so i am

You guys are killing me with your shrink wrap stories as I sit here on day 26 with my hands off my bator. Hope everyone's babies hatch out ok!!

Need help with this goose egg:

Last night it appeared to be pipping in the very bottom of the dip. (internally pipping) Not at the top. Today it still hasn't internally pipped and the only movement I see is at the bottom of the dip. It's not a lot of movement. My inner goosey is telling me I should pip for it. Thoughts?

What day/time did you set it? What variety? MIne are hanging out at the bottem too, thats where all the movement is. I wish I knew for sure what to do too. Celtic is on the goose thead.....
