If I wasn't a million miles away I'd snatch those up!Saw this ad for Black East Indies on craigslist today. Not sure if any of you Washingtonians are interested. I think I went out to this person's house a year or two ago, but decided that I wasn't set up well enough at the time for such small ducks.

DG, working on your care and info sheet. Text me when you get those answers for me. Will plan for tomorrow to ship, should be an over night express flight. It's 2:30 here so need to do brooder clean outs and feed the newest hatchlings.
Your goslings should have yard time every day starting at day 3 with you with them. If you don't have a secure area 2-3 times 20/30 min is a good start. By day 5/7 they should be outside all day, and back in at night. We use landscape timbers with PVC pipe creating arched tips covered in chicken wire to create daytime playpens for the super young goslings. Shade cloth gives them protection for the heat and sun. If for some reason you can't get them out then they need greens brought to them every day. It is a very important part of their diet and helps reduce risk of angel wing. Goslings fed too much protein and not allowed significant grazing time suffer from it most often.
Me too!If I wasn't a million miles away I'd snatch those up!
That's a really cool idea DG!I love when you give me info......... I would be oh so lost with out ya celtic!!![]()
I am making a new playpen for them tomorrow! I used to dig up sods of grass for my pilgrims, till I lost them.. everytime they would finish one, I would put the sod back in the spot I got it from, and dig up a new one.
Good thing you checked. My eggs are rocking hard, but no ext. pips. I'm going to probably check things out in a bit, since I brought mine in after they had majorly internally pipped. I'm concerned about SW too.so i just may have saved 2 upside ducklings.
pulled both their heads out. they opened their eyes and peeped at me. i guess that was their thank you.
i opened one of the eggs a little to see about SW
guess what everyone was.(i even had the humidity up at 84% before everyone int pipped. (i give up on this whole sw thing. its w/e at this point. ill just assist the hatches and not complain)
thats how i found the 2 upside down guys.
