Grr. I am having the most frustrating week with hatching. I think all the eggs I have locked down due Thursday are dead. At last candling, I was still holding out hope, but now I'm not sure. My inner duck says to kick them out of the nest. All shipped eggs from two BYC'ers. Post office strikes again.
My 'lings are driving me crazy. The ones brooded in the spare bathtub are totally wreaking havoc. Hubs moved my cayugas in with my bantams and Marty's khaki, which will likely be named Marty.
The little 'lings have already messed up their brooder when I feel like I literally just cleaned it. The bantam brooder crew has figured out how to eject water and bedding out of their brooder. I want to scream.
At work, I had to reunite a week old duckling with his mom. Mom almost took my head off. Glad runners can't fly.
What did I get myself into? I love these little boogers, but I'd really like to evict a bunch from my loft. If the weather hadn't turned, there would be seven more ducks outside where they belong right now.
I'm going to have to suck it up and go clean brooders.
