Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I let it go. I'm ready to be done with hatching for a while.
Glad No 1 is doing well!

I'm having a heck of a hatch for the second time in a row now. Stick a fork in me, I'm done (just as soon as I hatch the ducklings and chicks for my boss).

I've got some of those in the bator right now.

Runners look like little old men running around with their hands in their pockets in my opinion. I love them!

Lots of birdie drama over here tonight.

My silkie egg in the hatcher... dead.

Has anyone ever seen a prolapse or malformed vent on a two day old duckling before? My silkie duckling had a poopy butt, so I cleaned it up and its vent looks really strange. I think I might lose the little bugger. Ideas?

We have a birds nest in a hanging basket by my back door. One of the baby birds was out in the yard when I got home from work. It can't fly yet, so I risked getting divebombed by the parents and put it back. Baby is out again. Now what?

Oldest drake was born Feb. 2nd. Youngest girl was born March 28th.

OK, so boy/boy action does not hurt them in a bachelor flock... and so long as I have 1 drake per 4-5 ducks, the drake will cover the girls and there will be peace and harmony?

No boy boy is fine. My first ducks were 2 drakes and made a adorable couple. Also 1:4 should be a fine ratio
