ChristineR - I'm sorry you lost your baby dog. And two in a year, well, my heart goes out to you.

I've been trying to catch up. I don't have any appointments today, but I've got to go buy bird and people food. Everyone got a little this morning, since I forgot to go yesterday.

I'm very sorry I havn't been on so much. It seems like I've spent a lot less time being social in general, this last month. I suppose its all just part of it, but I hope you don't feel neglected, all my hatching fiends.

ok here is my rant (of the month):

and to add to that we built the "teenagers" a more permenant house and only 3 out of 15 will use it! Mama has gone rouge during the night with her babies. And 5 of my ducks have come up missing

, no feather, nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and they were here this morning, now there are only 2 and they have been wandering around looking for their friends

oh and did i mention they all got their voices in and there were 2 males and 5 females!

Hope you feel better Bakin !! I built 2 beautiful large kennels for my dogs, and none will use them!! No matter how wet or cold ~ They all still would rather stay on the back porch

SO now I am fencing it in & making them coops

Ok...will try to get some tomorrow. They are growing fast, and Simon is a tank. They are like puppies, so sweet. I let them out of their hoop house to free range around 6pm, then lock back up at dusk. It's so fun to watch them run around, play in the pool, and follow me around as I do chores. I absolutely adore them! Mother Goose and her man keep an eye on them, too.

Hey Marty, it is a busy time of year even without the extra stuff piled on you with your dad passing. We understand, but still miss you!!

Are you getting time in to play with your gosling crew? I thought about you yesterday taking pics of Chicory (Erin toulouse) with the other pair of toulouse (she's with them now instead of Barley). She's bigger than the pair although she is 2 weeks younger.

We are setting up temp pens in front yard to get the indoor babies outside for longer stretches. I think we will be able to merge Diva with Barley buff trio this weekend and then set up a 3rd area for the grey dewlaps adjoining the buffs pen & yard. I'd put the greys in with the buffs, except I will not risk putting Spirit in with anyone older or bigger. She cannot handle the initial pecking order process with her gimpy feet, but gets along fine with her hatch-mates.

They look really sweet. Sounds like a bit of a scare tactic to get them adopted. I'd think they'd get adopted quick, though.

ok here is my rant (of the month):

so this last week has been rough and thoroughly depressing! saturday i start feeling like crap and i'm in bed with a broncial type thing, long weekend so i suffer along till tuesday, monday night ear infection starts by midnight i am in screaming pain! by 8am i haven't slept at all have taken strong pain meds that help for about an hour each time, and i am throwing up my ears hurt so bad (yes it has progressed to both ears now) by 8am i think i am saved by i call and the doc office is not open for some strange unexplained reason, and the clinic 1/2 hour away is closed too! so hours and pain later i end up having to go to ER (thing i was trying to avoid) i waited in the triage room for about an hour them they admitted, hung around in the room for about an hour the doc comes in takes 2 minutes looking me over and says "yup you have an ear infection"! another hour for discharge and i am on my way to pick up my 3 scripts and on my way home.
They whole week i was wiped out and felt horrible, and today i go in for my follow-up with my doctor, he looks in my ears and now it is infected behind the ear drum in both ears! he said it looked like i have a very severe infection and should have gone to the ER sooner! so 2 more scripts later my head is still ringing and i can't sleep

Ok so my five babies have not come back I am thinking I may try to hatch more soon and then i may have a few lay eggs next year! Any one have a few I can buy for not too much?

Baking, sounds aweful.  Usually such severe ear infections also involve strep bacteria.  Its not always in the throat.  I've gotten strep infections in my sinuses 2x and ears 3x, but only 1 time in my throat.  Did they test?  Your still in pain.  Do you have a fever too?  IF so, I'd get strep test.

Thanks! I haven't had a fever since last Saturday, and I am still in a bit of pain but not a lot. They didn't test but I am going for a follow up next week, so I guess we will go from there

My Turkeys smell like vomit. I'm not even joking in the slightest. They literally smell as if someone threw up on them. Is this a normal Turkey smell?

. Any way to get rid of it?
