~***~TigerLily Trail's 2012 Foaling & Kidding Thread~***~ PICS of Zoe's Bucks Pg 7 Post #65

Glad to hear she loves you guys & that she is really learning to trust you :)!

Amber is being very bi polar about how protective she is. One minute she is mostly fine, next thing I know she is backing up to me again xP. Dawn is still pretty good about being handled although this morning was a bit of an adventure. Around 9 or so out neighbors behind our property called saying she was on the outside of the round pen

. So of course I had to go get her back in. Since my foal halters were no where near I had to corner her & put an arm behind her back end & one in front of her & lead her to the door. Thanks goodness foals dont weigh as much because I got stomped on, I dont know how many times, & at first she was bucking up a storm. Thankfully afterward, with the help of some grain to keep Amber semi preoccupied, I was able to run my hands all over her again so there were no hard feelings

. I planned to surround the bottom of the their stall's panels with sheet metal to prevent something like this, but I havent done it yet because I need to find something to cut the metal with. According to how the straw was she must have laid down in a corner & got up on the other side of the panel. Oh well at least she is OK, & im not the worst at construction lol. Anyways mom & baby are back together, & Dawn was nursing like crazy. Yesterday was neat because after stretching a lot Amber laid down in the stall, & Dawn was chewing on her ear

. I took the opportunity to give Dawn a nice long scratch, which she loved, & to rub Amber's forehead before she got up & chased me off again. Turns out my mucking wheelbarrow actually works well as a shield lol.

Amber & Dawn are doing good :). Dawn has grown SO much, & man can she move. Amber is more tolerant of me getting near her daughter, but now Dawn is the one that doesnt want me near her xD. This pic was taken around the 19th so it isnt the most recent, but things have been nuts around here!

Both does pregnancies are progressing well. Both girls are so big now that they breath quite heavily when walking around & especially when they are laying down. Sometimes Zoe literally rolls when she stands up poor girl ...They are also defecating & urinating pretty frequently because of the baby pressure. When I press my hand to their sides I can easily feel one of their kids moving. The odd thing is that ive heard you are more likely to feel the babies on a doe's right side, but I cant feel Zoe's at all on her right & easily on her left xD. Bag wise Zoe's is still filling slowly & Mei's goes between full & almost full. I wouldnt be surprised if they kidded early. If my dates are correct the earliest Zoe can go is May 18th, & the earliest Mei can go is June 1rst. I cannot wait for these kids, except for the de-horning,

Really beginning to think I was wrong on Mei's due date O_O! Last night Zoe was acting off so I checked both girls ligs again. From the start Ive had trouble finding Zoe's ligs so no big deal (at the moment I can find one), but then I got to Mei & her ligs were lower than normal & felt smaller. So I thought that was weird, but nothing else was up so I called it a night. I went out this morning, & right away I noticed that she is keeping her tail erect, & her tail head is arched & sinking, ligs are even smaller, lower, & getting more difficult to find, & she is acting very uncomfortable, staying away from the others, is clingy, & is quite vocal. She also has white goop in her woo ha (mucus plug?) & was rubbing her stomach on one of the dead grapevines that are in the doe pen which ive never seen her do as she normally rubs up on the chain link fence. Anyone else think that I may see kids within 48 hours or am I just paranoid???

Tail head & Wooha

Looking Uncomfortable

Still working on those pics. My cam needs to recharge.

I didnt even realize the first one was backwards until he was about 1/2 way out while I was pulling. 2nd buck I didnt see delivered because my horses thought it the opportune moment to kick the gate open & get in my yard

. If my dogs werent out I would have let them be. Anyways I saw him right after he was born so yay! To add to my shock & stress factor it also looks like Zoe's back is arched, her tail head appears to be working on it, & I cant find her ligs, but that doesnt really count for much with her, although that area appears to be sinking. No plug yet, but her pooch has started to swell a teensy bit. Might be wrong this time, might not. Im keeping a 3 week old orphaned foal in the doe pen so I have to go out every 3 hours or so to feed her anyways. Ill add checking Zoe to the list & keep the birthing kit near by... Bring on the sleepless nights

! Im so happy I got to help Mei with her first boy & plan to help Zoe if I can. Mei is being a good mom. She is always watching & licking them, though her nursing could use some work. She has never liked being touched in that area so sometimes when they are trying to nurse she backs up

. Other times she is licking one & the other sneaks sips lol.

It still looks like the area around Zoe's tail head is sinking, but her back doesnt seem as arched. Maybe she was just doing that because her kids are swimming around. Anyways here are some pics from yesterday & today. The first two are of buck #1 being born. Originally I thought his tail was his nose xD. I epically fail.

congrats!! they are adorable!! hope the other doe will go soon for you also :)
Thanks Becca! Judging by Zoe's tailhead do you think she may go soon?

More pics of her lol. She could just be uncomfortable, but she is acting a bit off now & for the most part is keeping her tail up. Not straight up like Mei had but up. Wooha still a teensy bit swollen & for the first time I actually saw her stretch today. Sorry about all the shadows

STRETCH!

Zoe has been acting a little off for days. Ive seen her stretch once more & she scratches or chews her belly a bit more than normal as well as having slightly more interest in me yet not wanting be to touched anywhere near her hind end though she is OK with me touching her stomach. She is just overall uncomfortable & has even taking to laying in the trough where Ive been putting hay. No more change in her tail head area. I was finally able to locate her ligs & it feels like the one on her right is beginning to go. I was kinda hoping for Cinco De Mayo/Mega Moon kids but oh well lol. She is still looking slightly sunken around the tail head, & it also looks like she is starting to dilate & swell a bit. Not much but enough to be noticeable. Im guessing she will kid before the end of the week...meaning this up coming week xD.

Mei & her boys are doing well. She has gotten the whole mom thing down, & im SO proud of her! It seems like just yesterday that I was bottle feeding her & Tonka. Sniff sniff, my babies all grown up! Everyone here is having the best time watching the boys hop around. Couldnt be a better week unless Zoe kids lol.

Zoe is still acting off. One of her flanks is completely hollow & the other is sort of hollow. Her wooha has expanded & dilated & the area around her tail head is sinking though her ligs are still there. The right one is slightly lower than the other & isnt as solid. Since yesterday she is a bit more OK with me touching her although she has her moments. Not sure what to think. Part of me thinks she may go before the weekend but the other part of me says she may stick with her original due period. She just looks out of it poor thing. Ill upload more pics ASAP.
