Silvadene ointment is the drug of choice for human burns. Colloidal Silver is used in many of the wound treatments we used in nursing homes. It's amazing what it can heal and how well it can heal horrible wounds. I did a stent as wound nurse and got very much interested in wound care. I did a search for using colloidal silver for wound care in chickens and had a lot of links pop up, one of them here on back yard chickens.

Something to keep in mind if the wound worsens.

Little Prime is a trooper! Glad the pasty butt is better. Very odd about the spot on his back. They usually don't get close enough to get burned, they adjust, even if you didn't raise the level. But don't beat yourself up over it. I'm still amazed at the healing properties these bird have.

I did see something about it on another post and I've read in the past the power of colloidal silver. I didn't know there was an actual product on the market to get it. Thanks.

I know right? All the other birds move out. Not Prime. He stayed under there. I know it's bc of all he's been through and he loves heat like me. Smh

Hi Everyone..Prime's burn is healing I can see it forming as a scab and starting to peel. Pasty butt is gone. His feathers are filling in nicely. He's a pretty big guy now. Small for his age buy still, considering. I am currently waiting on his sister (same dad) lol to pop out her egg. She doesn't need my help from the looks of it. But, heres a pic of Prime spread eagle like the beast he is. Thank you all for your care and love. I will update here once he's a bigger bird.

Almost 20 days later and I have a big Bird.He flies now. He's ready to go outside but I need him to stay with his little sister (who has a minor case or crook neck (sigh)) a couple more weeks. The burn is mostly healed and we havent had anymore illness or issues. He may end up being a She but Prime is full of attitude still. He's like a real A-hole. Lol
