Tiny egg.

My silkie has been laying eggs for about two weeks now. Today she laid a tiny little egg. Looked like an all white quail egg. I haven't cracked it yet to see if there was a yolk.

Cute! very normal though, especially for a new layer like her. It happens if an immature yolk is released or a piece of tissue is mistaken as one, and has shell-and-all formed around it. No worries. I love your egg rainbow by the way!

Thank you for that explanation. None of my other hens laid a tiny one, so my wife was concerned. My kids love it though.

It is normal when they are still trying to work out their bodies.

Looks like you have been gifted with a fairy egg. Even my mature layers sometimes pop forth one of these little jewels.
