Tips On Selling Eggs By The Road

A) how busy is your road?(is it just local traffic or so many people pass by)

B) try adding to the sign something like “self serve” people may not realize as they are driving that the cooler is there and stocked with eggs.

3) is there adequate space for a car to pull into or will they be blocking your driveway or the road to stop?

D) how long have you been trying to sell for? Eggs around here get pretty cheap to just buy in the store so if people don’t know the benefits of fresh ones they are hard to tempt when eggs are cheap.

5) is there any way to add signs down the road a ways so people have time to decide if they want to stop? I personally wouldn’t want to slam on the breaks suddenly just for eggs.

I'm rural and there's not many laws here. Maybe living on a country road doesn't help.

If im doing 60 MPH / 88 Kph.. whatever... getting me to slow down and stop just for a dozen eggs is going to be a chore. Now if you are in town and there is a stoplight up ahead, or a shopping mall, ie Im going to be stopping soon anyways, then yep sure Ill swing by your shop. Assuming someone does want to get some eggs, how easy is it for them to stop and pull over to do business with them? Is there a parking lot, or safe place for them to pull over etc etc.

cartons already orI need some tips on selling eggs by my road. I put them out everyday in a cooler with a big sign above them for $2.00. For some reason I don't really sell any.

so how does this work? The honor system, people get eggs and leave money for you? We have a place like this by my house, a sign on the side of the road etc, been there a long time, and before I got my chickens I was very interested but it was like.

Ok, so, where do I go, which driveway is yours, do I knock on your trailer or in the back or what? Are you open now? I don't see anyone there, I don't want to knock on a strangers door if they are not ready to sell, that is kind of rude and intrusive, If there is nobody there people are not going to know what to do, where to go and will just drive by really. That's what I did because I had no clue exactly 'how' I was supposed to get these eggs at 2.50 / dozen.

Not to be mean or anything but if I was Speeding along focused on the road ahead I really wouldn't even notice that. Maybe make it a bit more noticeable?

throw a chicken in the middle of the road so they have to slow down, once they do, they can read the sign.

Or better yet, tie a chicken to a cinder block in the middle of the road with a sign saying, buy my eggs or the chicken gets it!

How would you suggest I do so?
