Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

If you know the chick is inside the air cell after candling you can just use her pip hole because it's much easier but if she pipped below the air cell I would open the air cell to check the membrane before widening pip.

Yep I think it is below the air cell. Why the heck are so many of my chicks getting shrink wrapped?! Wth!

Ok and if I open it tonight and it’s not ready, will it be okay overnight without me reapplying the ointment? And thank you as always.

Yes, the ointment that @julskinka suggested is actually a great idea if you need to leave it alone over night without reapplying because it doesn't harden that I'm aware of.

Right - I am making an assumption here because your picture looks like it's done a regular aircell-then-external pip, but only you can say for sure.

IncuView runs very dry and shipped eggs are just especially delicate. It's nothing you're doing wrong.
It can also be a lesser malpo - like the head isn't under the wing but above it. So it has the strength to do the intial pip but not to make any progress with the zipping. I get a lot of those kinds of malpos with shipped eggs.
