Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I hope you feel better soon! Lots of germs going around right now and it's harder than ever to get over the counter meds for colds too. View attachment 2054943

Thanks.
It sure is! I was lucky enough to get a packet of panadol for our head aches but everything else was gone and I don't want to venture into the world again unless absolutely necessary.

I hear you. We're almost out of creamer for our coffee and I think I'm going to make a trip out to my friend's farm to buy some goats milk for the coffee rather than trying to fight the frantic crowds at the grocery stores right now. If not, I'll just drink it black until things start to normalize a bit.

Looks like a Paddy- and a patty. And the color is going back to black. They are both Maran/Andelusian mix saddle shipped eggs. (I bought eggs instead of chicks, they only cost me $14 dollars a chick.) Not fault of hatchery, P.O. had crushed the box, and my Yellow top incubator had bonked out and I had to wait 1 week for a new one. They sat the first week in homemade incubator that was unproven. I do have other eggs in my new incubator due later this week.

Hello all how long before I help with these external pips that haven’t made progress. After what happened with my one baby I’m very afraid to leave them for too long. They pipped at 6 am, it’s 1 pm now. A little silkie hatched and is ramming into all the eggs so it’s hard to keep track but they haven’t made progress since this morning

Day 13 for these Showgirl/Silkie eggs. 9/12 developing. One is about to quit. The aircell is still unattached/rolling, huge, and seems to be impeding proper embryo growth. It hasn't quit yet but I feel it's inevitable. I did not take pictures of this egg.

Here's a few pics of the healthy eggs. Two with good cells and one saddled.

I understand not wanting to wait too long. We all feel that way sometimes. But as part of the normal hatching process it can take 24 hours from external pip to zip/hatch. The chicks are working hard to absorb their yolk and rest up for zipping. Leave them alone until tomorrow morning.
