To those who put vinegar in the water...

I put 1 tablespoon per gallon and break it down from there if you have a smaller container. I have given mine acv since they were a few weeks old.

My 5-Gal waterer is pretty much down to empty after 2 days from my 19 GC's. I take a quick brush to the outside, blast out the inside with the hose, fill it back up and put in 1/4 cup of ACV. They go for it right away! Like I say, I do it because of the algae. The nutritional value is an added bonus.

The ACV does keep algea down and makes them fluffy. As for the mites, I use diatomaceous earth. I put it in their dustbath with sand. I also use it for their bedding in the coop. You may have trouble finding it. Be sure it is food grade DE. I asked the feed store to special order it in 50# bag. I put a pinch in their water with ACV.

hi everyone! i am curious about these "nipple waterers". are they like hamster/rabbit bottles? also i am concerned with rusty galvanized waterers: is the rust dangerous or preventable? i would imagine ACV would really get the oxidization going on the metal...

I would like to know about putting ACV in metal containers also.

Anyone?

Also--it is not exactly vinegar, but does anyone use an organic wormer and have you been satisfied?
