Today, my chicken had surgery.

First of all, you're not stupid. Bless you for doing that for her. My daughter bought a duckling that had issues. We took her to an Avian exotic vet, she had surgery on her eye, hoping she'd be able to see, but it didn't work out. It was not for sure, but we/she loved her. That ended up costing her $800.00. I asked her if she'd do it again, and she said, of course. So, you're not crazy, you just love them, that's all. :thumbsup

I am wondering how your girl is doing today? I hope she recovers quickly.
Her wing does well. Now, because she had been weakened, she has a respiratory infection. I hope she recovers. trying to get a prescription for antibiotics.

I am glad the surgery has healed , I am sorry to hear she has a respiratory infection. I hope antibiotics work quickly. I love all my animals so much.

Yes, today, one of my chickens had surgery. We found she had broken her wing in 2 places and her wing was holding on by some tissue. We thought it would fall off all by itself but it didn't. So then we had a choice: Shotgun or vet. Well, she's so sweet I didn't want to kill her. So this morning she went to the vet. Anaesthesia, surgery to remove most of the wing and now she's recovering in my bathroom. She's an Easter egger that looks like a Welsummer with buffs and beard. Loves to be hugged and cuddled. Maybe you think I'm stupid spending $130 on a $3 chicken, but seeing her eat, drink and talk to me makes it all worth while. Ellen.
Big, hug! You are a good human. kiss you, hug you, bless you!

Nothing wrong with spending money on someone you love. Remember, many dogs and cats were free to a good home. Yet we spend a lot of money on them.
