Well my 2 paint silkie eggs are ready to go into lockdown tomorrow. I've been trying to forget about them but now that it's getting close, I'm very excited! Lockdown is the most nail-biting time ever! Both eggs appear to be developing well, although they're pretty dark now and hard to see into. I really hope they both hatch! After they come out, I got 4 or so more eggs waiting to go in!

Anyone else ready to start the lockdown anxiety this weekend?

Great! Glad I'm not going into the madness alone!

Silkie crosses are adorable. You'll have to post pics. I think frizzles are the cutest!

And 12 silkie eggs, awesome bikerchic! Do you know what colors?

B/B/S, partridge, and silver partridge. I'm really hoping the partridges hatch!!

I have 7 that are supposed to go into lockdown tomorrow !!! I read a sticky about leaving them at the same humidity until they pipped internally and then stop turning them and once they pip externally then hike up the humidity and lockdown. Anybody else try this???

I haven't heard of that before. Interesting. I am hoping lockdown goes ok. My eggs have been developing as I would expect but I've been having major humidity problems. It stays at about 10% normally, and I keep trying to bump it up to about 30% but every time I add some water, it jumps to 60% for a bit, and quickly falls back down to 10% by the end of the day. I cannot keep it stable. I'm hoping lockdown will be easier because I'll be home all weekend and I'll just keep the channels of water full. I'm using an LG by the way, so that's not making my life any easier. I have been keeping the plugs in. I did hatch 4 babies in the incubator last month, so I know it's possible!

I have 18 Dominique eggs going into lockdown around 5:30am tomorrow!!! I can't wait, this is my first time ever incubating & trying to hatch eggs. I am glad that there are others going into lockdown with me, it'll be fun to see how everyone's chickies progress/hatch!
