Too big for the brooder, too cold for the tractor?

If the forecast says it's supposed to be at or above 45 for the next couple nights, mine go out at 3 weeks. Even if you've kept them too warm for the previous weeks, they seem to adjust pretty quickly once outside. I've never lost any to the weather itself.

If it's 40-50 at night, and they are 5 weeks old, they are MORE than ready to go outside, with or without a heat lamp. You can use one if you want peace of mind, but they'll be fine without one too. I put mine out at three weeks.

It takes a lot of fresh bedding to keep it nice for them and fairly odor free. But you basically don't smell much of anything until your right at the coop, then there is a smell, but I never let it get much worse then how most peoples hamster cages smell.

I remove a large amount of humidity with a dehumidifier, that helps alot. I also use alot of DE food grade. I keep it all dry and it barely smells at all.
