Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

So cute! Looks like my Lavender Orpington did as a chick.

Opened up number 3 and saw a little bit of bleeding. But definitely still alive. Membrane was stuck to the baby so it wasn't having an easy time turning. So I opened up the air cell and will let it rest until the veins recede more.

Barely squeezing these in in Feb: Runner duck eggs, Easter Eggers, and Black Copper Marans all "scheduled" to hatch Thurs/Fri of next week. I don't usually incubate duck and chicken eggs together, but decided to have the Runners and EEs share an incubator.

And I just set a bunch more BCM today. Might be time to get a second hatcher because staggered hatches are going to happen! 🤣

I think the duckling is close. It made the pip bigger and it is peeping now. There are 3 other pips. I put 2 of the eggs in a day later so those aren't pipped yet.

So much fun hatching ducklings! My first hatching experience was ducks. What breed do you have?
