Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

Number three is just about out has his foot resting on the edge of the eggshell just doesn't want to put in the effort yet. Hatching is hard work. I will candle the unhatched egg once I move everyone to the brooder to see if I need to assist that one. If not this hatch might be done.

WOW! That's a lot! I usually sell my English Orpingtons for $8 per chick and they come from a beautiful English bloodline.

Yeah Meyer is overpriced for their lavender and blue chicks. I can pay less and get them locally. I usually sell my babies for 5 at hatch and then price goes up for every week that I brood them.

If you can get an incubator I think you can get 12 eggs for $25 that's with shipping included. At least that's what it was when I was looking into lavender orpingtons.

I didn't end up getting them because my flock changed roosters in charge and my silver sebright is making beautiful silver chicks. I want to see what they look like once they feather out, but so far I am very impressed with them.

Might do a second hatch if I can find some eggs available. Meyer is sold out and the live chat just suggested keeping an eye on it for future changes to stock.

I'd love to see them as they feather out! Sebrights are so adorable!

Same, depending on breed, bloodline, and mostly my cost. Most of my chicks are $5-$8 per chick and it goes up with age.

Yeah I'm not sure what Pullet or hen laid the eggs but I do know that my silver sebright was the father.

I'm going to try to stay out of the feed store when they have chicks 😂 I know that I will bring some home if I go in there

You know what finally started saving me from this is that I like to keep a closed system at my house so that I know the chicks I'm selling haven't come in contact with anything else, within my control. It's a great excuse to myself to not bring chicks in from outside...it's also a great reason to hatch more myself. :lau
