Last year we started with two pekins and ended up with one male and one female. Then in February we lost our hen to a predator and rushed out and grabbed 5 new baby khaki campbells from our local store. Turns out we got 4 drakes and one hen. I know we have to get rid of the drakes, which stinks. They're so pretty! But I worry about that lone hen. If I decide to try and keep one khaki drake as I don't have the heart to get rid of my pekin, how many more hens would I need to add? And I can I throw some older nearly grown hens in the mix? Help!

Can I mix breeds in more? Someone has muscovy hens a few towns down, will they get along?

I have 2 drakes 1 Muscovy 1 Runner neither bother the other they have their own harem and only the Runner goes after the 1 Muscovy female all the others have learned to stand up to him. Not sure why the Muscovy drake doesn’t mind the Runner drake because if it was a Muscovy it would be all out war. As for your drakes liking females Muscovies more than likely they would drakes like anything in feathers, not sure how the 2 species would mingle together since mine pretty much ignore each other.
