Anyone else open their coop and find 4 chickens sharing one nesting box and 3 sharing another? There are 5 nesting boxes and they NEED to all lay with each other. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Decided to let my girls hatch some eggs this month since quarantine is so boring....I guess they’re all for it. Anyone know what will happen when the chicks are born and have 7 mom? šŸ˜‚

4 of the girls are silkies, the brown is a mut my uncle gave me and the 2 black are her offspring.

There’s actually someone else who had 7 or so hens become mommas to one batch of chicks. I’ll see if I can find it. They had pictures and videos and everything.

Thank you, it was hard for me to find anything when you type in ā€œbroodyā€ it gets flooded. The brown one is a protective mom from past experience so kind of concerned she’s gonna be a twit to the other moms.

I tried searching and there were just a flood of posts and pictures. I wish I could remember which thread it was but I cannot seem to remember šŸ˜” I can’t even think of key words šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø sorry

Thank you, I’m hoping they hatch a bunch more silkie babies!
I'm jealous! I miss my silkies. Pom-pom (my old silkie) hatched three gorgeous babies once. But then they got older and eventually died of old age, and there were no more silkies for sale. Now I just have ISA browns, blacks and whites and a few rhode island reds. I am hoping to get some wyandottes in the future.

Aww, I hope you get them again!
