Toulouse Geese Thread

Learning so much about geese from everyone (Congratulations to the fluffiest beauty who won the purple ribbon)
Wonder if someone could help answer a question for me.
I have two female Chinese Geese, we live in Northern Central Florida so the winters are not bitter. My chickens hen houses are moved into the barn for warmth but will the geese follow suit and hunker down in one of the stables? I worry about them getting cold.
Before this year, the only pet we owned was aChocolte Burmese cat who means the world to us. Now here we are with Chickens and Geese and having the time of our lives. It's a laugh a minute. Trying to get a rescue Donkey next. Anybody?

Kuku, do you really want to get her another goose for a friend? She may not be your sweet house girl anymore if you do. She will find out she is a goose!

Geese wear down under their feathers so as long as they have somewhere to go where they can get out of the extreme weather [high winds, snow, heavy rains and most of all security from predators looking for goose dinner on a cold winters night. They would be fine locked up in a stall in the barn as long as nothing can get to them.

I'd try the rescue, My gander had never been around anything but chickens and ducks, a Muscovy duck hatched him, so last Aug 2012 I found a Toulouse goose 4 months old for him. It took a while but they are inseparable now. Intros need to be done slowly, but I think she would take to a gander pretty good.

She's spending more time outside than she was before. She comes back in on her own when she wants to, but if she is looking for a companion, I certainly don't want to deny her! "he" will be allowed in too if he wants. Now that it's cooling down I'm enjoying spending more and more time outside too. I really like that she chooses to come in on her own though, I don't think she'll ever REALLY stop being my house goose, and I'll always lure her inside now and again with some lettuce if I have to =P

She'll always be your baby, but having her own kind will enrich her life. Even another female that way you wouldn't have to have the breeding season crazies to mess with.

We are taking Trina up to Gilbert this weekend to pick out a buddy! Found a lady who runs a goose rescue and is always trying to rehome the ones she can to make room for new ones.
Theres 7 shes picked out so we are going to go up and meet them and hopefully come home with a friend (maybe two if I can convince DH).
She's got Embdens, Sebbies, and a bunch of mutts - only one goose, the rest are ganders, which is what I was hoping for
