Mine fly best this time of year before the finish fattening up for the winter. Does not take too much "ballast" to bring them back to the ground.thank you , anastasia , she's a really good flyer , for a six month old !,
it's really fun to have big birds flying around you !
Hi toulousemama and good to see you, did the vet think Gertrude may have eaten something that made her sick? If you ever suspect it's botulsim here on the goose thread page there is a sticky with info on how to treat.Hi everyone, Toulousemama here. First off I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season. I hope everyone has had a great year.. Things have been happening at a rapid pace with Gertrude and Gilda. They are now officially fly girls. They have learned the landing technique and use it frequently. I built them an enclosure with eight foot high fencing and they flew right over it... Gertrude has been sick since December 4th. I think she got soaked and chilled so netted her since she kept running away from me and put her in the barn to dry out and started her on electrolytes and spinach and and all high vitamin foods.. She is finally coming round. Yes I did consult our vet and followed his instructions and she is at 85% as of today. The next bit of info I have to share is rather interesting. Gilda killed a mole yesterday. It was quite a surprise. Has anyone had any experience with this before. My husband and I were very surprised.. Well not much more to report for now. Have a great holiday season. Toulousemama.
