Toulouse Geese Thread

First winter and snow for our 3 boys! They didn't really know what to think when I let them out of their house this morning! Took one step outside, then turned right around and went back inside haha! They finally ended up coming out and made their way around the yard :)

My 11 did exactly the same thing yesterday. Then they didn't want to go back in later. Silly geese. Oh, and welcome.

Feb -March most likely first you have to see breeding then comes the eggs. They are beautiful @Zaccurry16 are they all female?
it's a trio , two female in the front ( Anastasia on the left , Toula on the right flapping ) Gaston he's on the far left , and drake ( the duck ),,,,
do i need to give them laying pellets

Wait till you see breeding then start the layer. once you begin to see mating it's around 3 weeks before you begin to see eggs. But this is just a ball park it may take them longer to start laying or shorter but I'd say by the time they are 10 months you'll see eggs. Keep us updated . My Toulouse was 9 months when she began laying.

One of my girls laid her first egg a few days ago and her second today! Exciting yet I'm not sure if they are supposed to be laying in the winter! I'm in Wisconsin. We had a spring like beginning of winter so is that throwing them off? Or is this normal? I don't have any males yet. I hope to get one in the spring.

Edit: I just checked on them now there is 2 eggs so they are BOTH laying! It's snowing and they are laying the goobers! Lol

I'd say your girls are a tad early but if you have had the same type of weather most of the eastern part of the country has had I can understand why. Take the eggs though even if you don't have a gander geese love to brood. You dif don't want them brooding this time of year it takes alot of nutrients and stamina to brood even in warm months.
Congrats on the eggs they make awesome omelets,.
