Well Missy laid #16 yesterday, and now just like an expectant dad Sammy goes into the duck house with her and waits till she lays her egg, I haven't heard him doing any coaxing but just being there I am thinking is giving her support.

of course he could be whispering too.

Gerdie actually slowed way down... only 7 total so far, or about 1 per week - 10 days... is this normal for a 1 year old goose?

Well I am not sure actually, all I know is Missy is laying every other day like clock work, now how long this will continue is any bodies guess. And maybe Gerdie will pick up and lay more when spring gets here.

I believe so a gander will mate with any goose as far as I know.

Hi everyone,
I have some questions - my geese keep neck wrestling & take turns jumping on top of each other; Gertie seems to be more successful jumping on top of Stanley than he on her - is this normal??

She is a year old but there are no eggs at all; is that normal? I have laid out at least 3 enticing places where they could start a nest if they wanted to.
I know I have a lot to learn and really appreciate any info you can give me - thanks!
