He is beautiful. It may take a few days for Trina to really welcome Pom but I think they will fall in love with each other.. Congrats! and what a sweet pic of Trina. So we drove up to Gilbert today to the Webfoot ResQ and after a few mini "dates" we settled on a sweet 3yr old saddlebacked Pomeranian. He's a REALLY big boy with beautiful blue eyes. He was also hand raised as a single goose and a house pet so he should fit in perfectly. He was a little skittish at the rescue where there were lots of other geese, but they think he will really blossom in a nice one on one setting.
I'll take better pictures in the morning but we didn't get back til after dark
His name is Pomegranate, but I think we'll call him Pom Pom
And Trina riding home in the back seat next to Pom Pom in a crate

She was really interested in what was in HER crate and kept trying to crawl back there, so I put her in the back seat and after a few minutes she started pecking at my shoulder over the seat vying for attention lol I watched her through that mirror for a bit but she's too clumsy to stand and look out the window So back up to the front where she could sit in my lap at just the right height to see outside. Dorky goose!KuKu, that last pic of Trina in the mirror is cracking me up! And Pom Pom is beautiful... congratulations!
Them tiny chickens are very scary. lol he is sure handsome. Thanks for all the well wishes! I'm so excited to have the new boy.
He sure is BIG! And holy cow is he LOUD! I thought Trina was a honker, man Pom really puts her to shame. I still think the dogs can out bark him no prob, but now I completely understand having them outlawed in city limits. No rooster can compare to this boy!
The foster home I went to had over 50 geese, a lot of them in pens side by side, that was quite the experience for me! So much honking and screaming, cracked me up! DH wasn't as amused lol
Well Trina mostly just seems scared of the big loud thing in her yard, but she will walk past him to get where she wants no problem. He doesn't seem all that interested in her, but he's not aggressive or afraid of her so that seems like a plus!
At first Trina would hide behind the big green crate where he couldn't see her but they were only a few feet apart, now Trina won't sit close to him, but once he gets comfortable, she will sit within 4 or 5 feet with nothing in between them so she's not really hiding anymore.
He DID come after me a little with his head down and try to take a coupe nips at me, but they were halfhearted and he was obviously just scared. He doesn't chase me, and he only leisurely waddles away if I walk toward him so he's not difficult to catch and he's VERY chill when he IS caught. He's got monstrous sharp nails though so I mostly just bend over and lead him rather than pick him up.
Trina looks so tuny next to him, it's not a great picture for size, but you can see the difference in their breast size and how much shorter she is even standing up on the step!
Pretty blue eyes!
He's not quite brave enough to venture out in front of the chickens into the carport where it's open, he stays right behind the house where he's good and protected.
No kidding! Trina runs from the serama and lets them take her food. They don't get to come out anymore lolThem tiny chickens are very scary. lol he is sure handsome.
