Toulouse Geese Thread

Not sure I'm on right thread. I have a " what breed is this" question. A month ago I got 4 geese. Was told it was a White Chinese gander, a Toulouse goose and their 2 female off spring. Can anyone tell me if this goose is Toulouse or Steinbacher? Only because of the black bill tip and lips. And what sex the off spring are. Thanks

That is a Toulouse. As for gender, in the bottom picture, the one on the right I am guessing is a gander. The second offspring I am not sure. Can you post a better picture of that one alone, full body shot?

@jtn42248. Thank you for responding. I've never had geese so went by what was told. The darker mix just does not act female. The whiter mix takes turns on nest with Toulouse. The whiter mix also stays in back of grouping. Hard to get picture, will send best I have. It raining here so will try for better pic when it stops.

Hey there! It looks like you've been lied to big time -_-
That is indeed a white Chinese gander.
The one you think was Steinbacher might look like one but due to the breed being rare it's highly unlikely and she's too heavy to be an Steinbacher.She is most definitely a White Chinese cross toulouse here's a picture of my Chinesextoulouse goose. The females for this cross form little or no knob but always show a sign of a knob development but never grow one and another thing is that any pure brown goose with white flight feathers (wing feathers) indicates that it is a crossbreed .
Does she have white feathers in her wings?

They might be their offspring but unfortunately they are both ganders I hate to say.
The ganders of this cross can be quite aggressive but maybe these aren't.

@Sarkchick you can rely on what servpolice has said above. When I got my geese it was serv that photo-sexed them with 100% accuracy. The same with the offspring that they produced. Don't know how serv does it but ...

@Jtn42248@servpolice. Thank you both for the information. Yes it is bad news. Luckily they were given to me, I did not buy them. The female started sitting a couple days ago. I thought it funny there was only 1 egg every other day.

Ok. Will the eggs hatch??? Or will they not be fertile, being they are mixes??

Btw how are things with your flock doing? It is breeding season right now so I'm not surprised if problems are accruing right now.

What time law enforcement are you in? My som is Marine turned Army. Due to retire in 2 years. And mom and sister retired DPS.
