Tractor Supply Chicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those orders should be mailed to your home address.TSC is contracted for those breeds in those amounts. The other alternative is to find a hatchery on your own with the quantities you want.

For some reason my TSC could get me small quantities delivered to their store. They're great. I think the hatcheries they work with are great too.

That would be nice- so long as the different breeds and sexes were banded. Usually they ship in a single box; sometimes divided. My concern would be getting chicks that no one could 100% identify on arrival, and they would all be mixed around. And some folks don't want packing peanuts- on my order, I ended up with 3 males {only ordered pullets} but did get a few extra gals, too, which was nice. I had no complaints, but that's me.

I think my TSC manager would order a bunch of ours together from the hatchery and could tell the different chicks apart. I got two Welsummers and two EEs that way. She also gave me a little bantam that was not doing well for free because she knew I'd do my best to get it back to health. The TSC employees probably didn't have the time to deal with it. She's helped me find people who sell hay for our horses and a guy who could sell me EE hatching eggs, and neither had anything to do with TSC. I have nothing put praise for our TSC.

Just got chicks today from my local Tractor Supply. They get their chicks from Ideal Poultry. Prices are higher than ordering online from Ideal. Also, talked With 2 store managers. They receive boxes of chicks and all the labels show is straight run, pullett,no breeds. So they really do not know what breeds they are selling.

Do you have a rural king anywhere near you? I've got quite a variety from a couple around me. And theres always at least one employee that can tell you the hatch date, when they got them ect.
Same here and their "assorted pullets" were barred rocks and leghorns" wow so fun lol. They did have a straight run java group once but I knew nothing of the breed so I didn't get any.

Not exactly - they are simply opting for the easier option of mixing breeds into fewer brooders vs. maintaining separate brooders for each breed. They list the possible breeds and from there it is generally pretty easy to pick out what you want of the chicks you see. Most of the time you can also find a staff member with a fairly good knowledge that is able to help you pick out the different breeds if your own knowledge of the different chicks is not sufficient.

Perhaps where you are. Here the signs say assorted pullets or assorted straight run. The only "breeds" they have signs for are the Cornish Game Chicks.
I have a pretty good relationship with the managers at both Tractor Supply stores in my area. Last night one of them showed me the box the chicks came in.
No breeds, it really did say "assorted pullets" and " assorted straight run" on the labels on the box the chicks came in.

Not important unless you are heart set on a particular breed. I have my 18 chicks from Tractor Supply and will order the two breeds I have my heart set on for delivery in May.
