Tractor Supply Chicks

Ours had little kits for $11.99, came with everything you needed except the heat lamp, even had a 5lb bag of food. Seemed perfect for Ohio's 6 chick minimum :)

Just remember you can always set up a quick brooder and then work on the coop, nothing says get crackin' like cheeping chicks.
I went to my local TSC earlier this morning. They are setting up the pen things and the chicks will be for sale tomorrowww.

I don't have a coop or a brooder but I want to go tomorrow and buy some...lol

a large cardboard box makes a good temporary brooder. put some shavings in the bottom and clip a work lamp light onto the side.

I just called our TSC - and the chicks will be here "sometime this week." That means, of course, that- I'll be buying some chicks from TSC this week IF they have the breeds I want. My excuse: I can always sell the extras. And it's true - I've had great luck selling any surplus chickens I get. I enjoy hatching and brooding chicks - and lots of people enjoy getting them after they're fully feathered. So it works out.
