I love trying to convert people to kale! It is crazy nutritious and super cold hardy. I use it mainly in quiches (eggs!) and in soups. Have you ever had the Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana soup? It's a cream-based soup with potatoes, sausage and shredded kale. I make another one with chicken, chicken broth, onions, diced squash or pumpkin and shredded kale. Super easy, tasty and nutritious.

ETA: In all my zeal, I completely missed wifezilla's great description of kale. Thanks

Okay, there are also some that says 'glow' flowers? I'm not sure what these are, or if it is correct, but that's what it says, if anyone wants these!

P.S.
And Kale is ridiculously easy to grow.

I also have some squash that I could possibly part with, if no one wants the flowers? Let me see what I have!

Okay, I have some butternut squash, iceberg lettuce, mixed bell peppers, and some broccoli. Will that work? Oh, and I also have some yellow crookneck squash I could part with.

Due to the economy and current political climate, I think we are all thinking FOOD not FLOWERS

Can I please take carrot again? I got a great tip on The Easy Gardener for storing them next fall

I will offer 1 of the following:

kale
colorful Swiss chard (almost as healthy as kale)
beets (hey, I can try, right? who knows when someone new will hop on)
bitter melon from Baker (really cool and bumpy)
garlic chives
Musquee de Provence squash (LOTS of flesh in each squash)
Hubbard squash

Nope all squash most definitely do not grow on a bush. I prefer the vineing ones 'cause you can train them like tomatoes to grow up. Then you can even use their shade to grow things like lettuce that don't like all that summer sun.

Oh, I didn't know that. The only ones I had last year were straightneck, and they were definitely a bush plant! Thanks for the help, now I'll have to figure out where to put those too!

I did get some seeds on Saturday, but I'm not sure who they were from?

There were lupines, dwarf stocks, cauliflower, carrots, and onions in there! Just wanted to let 'you' know that they arrived!
