Well, my 3 sons....er... I mean my 3 roos got SUPER lucky 'cause we found someone at the edge ot the city who wanted them Yaaay, they're now at their new home, and my husband and daughter said they were nice people too. So thank goodness!

It sounds good but i find it hard to imagine someone wanting three roosters,unless theyre for dinner.

It would be ok if they wanted them for dinner, I just can't do it here at my house, neighbors would freak. But actually, they got super lucky. This guy had over 20 hens and wanted to add a bit of leghorn in his flock for the next generation of layers. That's plenty of girls to keep the guys happy and not fighting, plus, they'll be good protectors I'm very happy we found this guy.

LOL, and they say leghorns are non broody!  They may surprise me yet!?!  I was kinda joking, but I see ice cubes won't even stop them from brooding, eh?  Oh well!  Amazing, hope you find some adorable mutt eggs!

I found a neighbor with 5 fertile Eggs. He just let me have them. They are brown with some speckles... It will be fun to see if any hatch. The countdown is on!!

If they hatch I will share pics for sure She's been very faithful on the nest so far. I hope they really are all fertile... Should I candle them at some point? Will I be able to see anything through the dark shell?

Well, it's really easy to see inside the white TJ eggs, but I have a harder time with the super thick shells I've been getting shipped to me, and I haven't had any brown eggs yet. I guess, just bring a strong flashlight down to the nest and take a look, you might see really well??

Hello everyone! I was just wondering what breed whole foods eggs are. The nearest trader joes is literally a state away, so whole foods is my only option for the store bought experiment. I am looking into getting an incubator and this seems like the perfect 'christening' for a new bator.

I tried looking through the rest of the thread for the answer but I started going cross eyed. .

I really don't know, but I did read that WF doesn't have a good fertility rate, but rather... Oh, what's that store's name? There is another popular store that starts with an S... theirs is better. I'm going to guess it's some kind of red sex link or road island red?? or??? Really don't know....

I bet you could find some fertile eggs at local farms that might be super cheap, if you want to try out the incubator before committing something expensive in there (that's why I started out with the TJ eggs) ??

I gave my broody 5 TJ's eggs 8 days ago. Candled them today and nothing at all. Sad I will leave them just in case but I have a feeling it is not going to happen.
