Dixon and Anatoli agreed on combining herds, and that it would help them both, Dixon in destroying the Arab forces would be a lot easier, and Anatoli in expanding his herd.
Anatoli promptly rounded up his mares, directing them over to Dixon and introducing them. The mares, of which there were ten, were all Akhal Teke's. However, one could not tell from a close glance as they lacked the gentle physique and gold colored hair of a true Akhal Teke.
Anatoli mentioned all of them, with their names: This is our lead mare, Anechka. This is our navigator, Duscha. This is a mare I found alone in the woods a week ago, Fayina. Heres the wise one of the herd, Jelena. This is our doctor, Svetana. This is my daughter, Tahsha. This is my sister, Vasilissa. Yelena, Helga, and Lenusy, are my sisters children. Ladies, this is Dixon our new co leader. This is Emira, our new lead mare. This is Fiona, my new wife. This is Thaqaf, he use to be of the Arabs, but is now with us. This is Afra; shes still with the Arabs, sadly. Im sorry to say that I have not been formally introduced to the others, and I do not know their names.
Good to meet you. Replied Dixon, for all of us.
It was odd to have this addition to our herd, and nineteen horses were a lot. All of the horses from our herd were polite, while some from the other were shy, some rude, and some polite.
Once the introductions were done, I started to head over to Fiona, but stopped and just watched; She was with Anatoli, eating and chatting. My mind took me through memory lane, when our masters were alive. We would be put together in a field, and we would chat and eat. I knew we wouldn't have much of this anymore, as she would have children soon, and would have to spend more time with her family.
So I turned away, looking to the sun. There was another horse, about fifty yards ahead, sitting down watching the sun. I could hardly tell who it was, as the sun was shining in my eyes. Slowly walking up, I could tell it was one of Anatolis mares. Once I finally reached her, I noticed she was Fayina. I sat down a few feet away and said Hello. She took no notice of me, but just looked down at the ground, crying. I quietly asked:
Are you alright, Fayina?
She turned her head away, and said nothing.
Its okay, you can tell me, I dont bite. I stated.
Please, I dont want to talk. She replied.
Dixon interrupted us, as he needed me to find a secure place for Afra. I didnt want to leave Fayina, for I was really worried about her. But business had to be done, and tomorrow would be a long day.
I quickly tied Afra tightly to a tree, when I was about to walk away, she said:
You fool, how can you trust him, that was a whole act he put up. We met with the Arabs last night, and none of you will survive!
How can I believe you? You wouldnt tell us, anyway. Or would she?
Ill be glad to watch you die! At this, I pranced away. I was physically strong, not mentally. Suddenly, I ran into Fiona:
Oh, hey Fiona! I said.
Hello! I saw you talking to Fayina. She stated.
Yes I was...
Dixon yelled out: Everybody! Bed down! There may be some trouble, find a place to hide!
We all quickly moved to safe places, and watched. Then I remembered what Afra said, was she telling the truth?
