Wait until later in the afternoon and he'll be more tired. I make sure the trap is fully covered and move slowly. I attach a bunji cord to the front of the drop door and just leave it there btw with a long loose retrieval cord on the non door end. I get the bunji to where I can reach it out of sight of the skunk. Then with the tip of a finger I push back the door release gate and raise the door and secure the door with the bunji to the back of the cage. And just turn and walk away.....they usually don't bolt out since they cannot see around the cage. When they hear silence, they'll test the exit and leave.Trouble is....what happens when should you catch a skunk? You won't be able to approach the trap without it spraying!
