TREAT THEM FOR WORMS NOW -Molting - short days - few or no eggs anyway

Yep, and I wormed mine on 8/10 with Wazine.(didn't see any worms at that point, but my hens were dropping weight) So now I'm doing Valbazen. Those buggers are going bye-bye.

Oh, great. Gag. If I ever saw a live worm in an egg there is no way I would be able to eat eggs again! I can worm mine again after Christmas, can't I? It doesn't have to be exactly 30 days after their first worming I hope.

No, it doesn't have to be exactly thirty days. In fact, I started mine on Valbazen just ten days after my having given them Wazine 17. Giving the Valbazen can be done when you're ready, but you should wait at least ten days after giving the Wazine 17. Don't forget, toss the eggs for 21 days after you give them Valbazen. It's also 21 days after Wazine 17, but since I started the Valbazen ten days after, I saved eleven days of not tossing. So I'm only tossing eggs 31 days instead of 42 days. NOTE: WHAT I'VE UNDERLINED IS WRONG. IT'S TWO WEEKS, NOT THREE WEEKS, i.e., that should have read... "Don't forget, toss the eggs for 14 days after you give them Valbazen. It's also 14 days after Wazine 17, but since I started the Valbazen ten days after, I saved 4 days of not tossing. So I'm only tossing eggs 24 days instead of 28 days" ... for giving both Wazine 17 and Valbazen.

CORRECTION on Dec. 4th: Toss eggs for 14 days after giving wazine and 14 days after giving valbazen= 28 days total. The exception to this is that on the 10th day after wazine you may give the valbazen, then it's 14 days from the start of the valbazen= 24 days total.
ETA I was thinking of the three weeks that I had to give my rooster his medication for respiratory disease/fungus.

You will never have to use the Wazine 17 again, i.e., just use the Valbazen after you've used it once earlier because there will be no chance of overloading their system with the roundworms and others. The Valbazen will kill whatever amount of roundworms plus all the other worms after the Wazine 17 has killed all the roundworms ONE time.

dawg53 ... Jim, will you read what I just wrote and comment if what I said is not correct or if you have something to add. Thanks, Joe

wouldn't be alot safer to have a fecal test done? The way we jsut dump drugs into animals becouse it is spring or fall will only allow parasites to gain resistance. You are all ready seeing this by how normal dosages are tripled or followed with another wormer. Get a fecal done and target the problem, that is if you even need it at all. Birds need to build an immunity not have it destroyed constantly by chemicals. Just my opinion. I have never had a problem with my birds and they free range constantly. But then again they were born here and have built themselves up to this enviroment. They get apple cider vinegar depending on the time of year and what the season is like.

Jim, are you saying we only toss eggs for fourteen days for both WAZINE 17 AND/OR VALBAZIN, not twenty-one days?

Maybe I misread what you previously stated Joe, sorry...It's 14 days for wazine amd 14 days for valbazen= 28 days total. But yes, 10th day after wazine and then starting the valbazen, it's 14 days from the start of the valbazen= 24 days total. If my Georgia math is any good lol.

Dang! Where on Earth did I hear it was supposed to be 21 days after each one unless you start ten days after Wazine 17.

Is there any way you can give the Valbazen in their water? I just gave valbazen soaked bread to my birds in the coop #1 and had a heck of a time. My BR ended up with 2 doses (hopefully it doesn't hurt her) because she stole a piece from another girl. I wasn't able to get my rooster as he kept trying to feed it to the hens.

I have another coop to de worm, and I'd love to put it in their waterer if it's at all possible.
