I feel pretty much the same for the rest. I figure both my chickens and I always have some worms.

It doesnt matter how many chickens, you just want enough that they can drink their fill for the day. If you have 5 chickens, you wouldnt need to mix up near as much as if you have 100.

My flock was born Sept 8 (or at least that's what the hatchery said are they too young to be wormed? since they are not laying should I go ahead and do it now so I wouldn't have to toss eggs? Also, since they are allowed to free range and they are still only a few months old should I still use the Wazine first or can I just use the Valbazen? I have a flock of 70, can I mix the Valbazen in the water?

I treated my flock to the Wazine on Tuesday. I am having a hard time finding the valb. Would I be able to see any of these worms in their poop?

2. Valbazen -one half cc/ml for standard size chickens, one quarter cc/ml for smaller chickens including silkies. You can use a syringe to squirt it down their throats individually or you can inject it into a small piece of bread and give each chicken a piece of bread....they gobble it up. - dump the eggs for two weeks

3. ...after a couple of days of using both wormers....give your chickens plain yogurt or buttermilk(probiotics), canned beef catfood (extra protein), all mixed in their feed and give it to them to build up their immune systems, do this about 3 days in a row. Then you'll have healthy, happy chickens lol.
The next time you worm,say in about 6 months or whenever you see fit...you can use the valbazen first, no need to use the wazine unless you want to. Please PM anytime and I'll be happy to help you with worming. Jim.

Making buttermilk (joebryant):
Mine love it, and its lactic acid and bacteria culture is super healthy for them and YOU.
I make it a gallon at a time:
Buy a quart of buttermilk, pour it into a large container with a gallon of milk. Let the five quarts sit at room temperature for 24 hours, stirring occasionally, and you'll have five quarts. Save a quart to use with another gallon of milk later.
BTW, buttermilk will keep for a very long time in the refrigerator.
Store in a glass container(s).

Just to clarify; the Valbazen is given once right? When it says "after a coupld of days using both wormers..." - I wanted to be sure I'm not supposed to be giving the Valbazen for 3 days. Thanks!

I'm going to ask a stupid question so, here goes.

............Can you just squirt the worm medication(Wazine)/water mixture down their throats individually instead of putting it in their waterer? That is, mix it as indicated and then use a syringe with plunger seal to get liquid mixture. And if so, how much would you squirt down their throat. I'm always skeptical about if they are getting enough of the Wazine in them or not.

Another stupid question..............How much water do you think a chicken drinks every day?

Valbazen is given once. "a couple of days using both wormers" was referring giving the chickens probiotics and extra protein after worming only.

Ok, forget the wazine and just use the valbazen orally down the throat to each chicken...1/2cc standard size, 1/4cc smaller chickens.
