Got a kick out my girls last night. Got home from work, they were both in the chicken yard. I called them and they flew over the gate, barking & flapping. Quickly settled into trills. They are as goofy to see me as my dogs. Love my hens!!

Ralph....sounds like your refining your breeding program & developing a focus. Is there a certain APA color your going for? Wish you could show Sidekick. He's impressive. Do you have any young slate jakes that look promising? What is Snitch...hen/tom...slate/rusty...? I imagine, if you want to show a tom, you'd need to be training lappers now for the spring shows. Honestly...I've never had issues bathing my hens. But they are lappers. Somewhere R2elk is rolling his eyes!

Holm...I too could easily be a turkey hoarder! I was out of town since Thursday. Got home, open the back door and yelled "Where are my girls"? They were in beack with the chickens. And boy did they come running! Flew over the gate & ran up the back steps. All kinds of barking & trilling. Turkeys are just too much fun!!

The same with Daisy. She also hopped up on the roof of the garage yesterday. She only does that sort of thing when she's thinking of laying. Both girls did this last year....started laying again after their molt. Seems they only stop laying during their molt. Which amounts to an egg break of about three months.

Feedman, R2elk....where have you guys been? Hunting? For you deer hunters....someone here in Tennessee shot a buck with a 47 point rack. It was a gnarly mess....cant figure out how that poor guy could even raise his head!
