Morning R2elk...currently 26 here south of the Mason Dixon. Was worried about my turkeys until I read your post. Now...not so much! Now I'm just going to worry about you staying warm! Geez! Seriously....I have no idea how you would even dress to go out in weather like that! I'm such a winter wimp! Trying to embrace our "cold" weather here, and after about 15 minutes of embracing it I have to run into the house to warm up. After reading about your turkeys roosting in weather like that I guess I can remove Daisy's leggings and neck scarf! I'll cancel the custom fleece jacket I ordered for her to....

Bourbon trio sounds great Feedman! Hope you can get them. Few friends stopped by this afternoon. Turkeys had to be in the middle of everything, of course. They all were laughing at Daisy. She currently is sporting a mop of dark grey feathers on top of her head. Looks like a little mohawk. I think she's adorable. They were hysterical. I need to get pictures. It is a bit extreme.

This could be a touchy subject...and I'm not "body shaming"...but both of my girls seem to have packed on a few pounds. At first I thought it was the new feathers. I realize now they are just little fatties. Doesn't seem to impede their activities, or their flying. Is this normal during the winter? No change in their diets. They are eating the same feed and free ranging. I'm not big on treats. A little BOSS at bedtime. Is this normal during the winter? Or are they just maturing into a more matronly body type?

Feisty I understand. Growing up in St. Louis I was used to snow. They hardly closed anything. Here they close schools if there is just the prediction of snow. But to be fair, we have no snow removal capabilities. When is it your heading to New Zealand? I'll be waiting for pictures of the native turkeys! Surely they have turkeys. Did you register big Bird as an emotional aid pet yet? :D

Feedman your as addicted as Auroa & Ralphie! But a new bator has to be SO tempting! Those quail are so dang cute! What do people do with them? Eat 'em, look at 'em, turn them into little lappers? You could stuff some in your jacket pockets & use them as hand warmers!

Excited about your new trio! You must post pics! Any leads on Narri's yet?
