So glad to hear a turkey has laid!! Feedmam, I do the same thing. I need to keep an eye on Daisy when she feels urge she'll fly out of the yard if she can't get to her nesting area. I can sure tell when she's getting ready. She gets "Pre-Egg-Syndrome ". Annie is much more casual. If she can't get to her nest spot she'll use a chicken nest box. And doesn't care if there is a hen in there or not.

I'm sure my girls have been thinking of laying for a few weeks now. Just a subtle change in behavior. I remember last year a bunch of us already had birds laying. Funny how they all seem to be synced up. Last year we had reports of December eggs from all over the country. So far this year I've noticed only one hen in Missouri just now starting to lay. I'm getting anxious for our girls to start.....miss those cute baby pictures!
