Going to be a nice weekend here! Yippee! We've had so much rain. It will be nice to get a break!! I'm planning to spend time in the garden with the turkey hens. Unlike my chickens, they just pretty much hang out inspecting my garden tools. They aren't particularly ambitious. My chickens scratch and kick stuff all over the place. Plus they eat my hostas.

I'm assuming I'm not the only one with lazy turkeys......

Penny Hen....poor bird. She's lucky you caught her. Poor thing. Keep us posted.

Ralph...your article is great!!

I'm planning to get more chicks. Traveling at the end of the month so I'm putting it off till the first part of May. It's killing me.

Spent most of the day in the yard today. Spent more time than I needed to watching Annie hunting bugs. She stalks them, then gets stock still and grabs them. Quite entertaining. I've never seen Daisy do that. I was sitting in my lawn chair listening to the baseball game. Daisy was perched on the arm as usual. Guess she'd rather be a lapper than a hunter.

Yeah Ralph, I'm familiar with that turkey hen bark! Although that's one of the more interesting things about my turkeys. I can pretty much figure out what's going on with them based on their vocalizations. It's so varied and expressive. I just love that little happy turkey trill. And if they are in the gardens with me, Daisy will do that locator call. I'll yell over at her & she'll do the trill. Of course this goes on every 10 minutes if she can't see me. She tends to do this from her dust bath. Guess she just wants to know where I am but doesn't want to get her big turkey butt out of the spa.

You need to let Ethel out by herself in the evenings during Chicken TV for some special bonding time! :D

Coco! Feisty, I know she's being a pain, but she's so cute!

Feedman, yes your right. They were the perfect ladies. Daisy hopped in my lap. Several friends wanted to hold her. She was passed around like a new born baby. Funny bird. Likes to sit on laps getting petted. I did pick up Annie & hung on to her. We didn't pass her around. She's not that into folks she doesn't know. But she'll let anyone pet her. But is only comfortable sitting in my lap.
