Wow, this sounds familiar!
A few years ago I decided to try to hatch some RIR chicks. It was my first time ever having chickens and I had no idea what I was getting into. We only had one hatch out of 11 eggs. He hatched a day late and had some trouble getting out of the egg. We named him Peep, and he grew into a beautiful rooster. He followed us around everywhere, always wanted cuddles, and thought we were his flock. He would even go chase after a ball when we threw it for him! RIP, Peeper.
Hopefully your little dude will turn out the way mine did.
