Troyergals Chat Thread!!!

So I've heard! I'm so excited!

Cool! That'll be fun!

I think I have some sort of dwarf gene in my flock.
:weee It'll go like this two hens one drake (just for example) two hens, 40 ducklings and one drake, then two hens 80 ducklings :lau

Yeah.
:P
Interesting. What makes you think that?

:lau I love poultry math. :P

Well, I've got a lot of pullets and hens that are quite small hatching, some from full size hens. I've had it since the beginning of my flock.

It's not stunted growth. They are small, some are bantam size - 1-2 lbs. Good layers of big eggs, pretty hardy, don't eat too much. Sometimes go broody but not too often. I really like them and they're quite efficient.

Oh - I've never had a male hatch, just girls. Makes it easy to sex those! But I don't know what it is. :hu

GUYS!!!!!!! IS THERE SERIOUSLY NO ONE AWAKE?!?!?!?! :th
I had this freaky neck spasm in the middle of the night last night and now my stomach's in absolute anguish...... :barnie And the stomachache's weird; it's so high up, it feels like my ribs are going to explode..... :barnie

But you survived! Yay! :ya :P
Yes, I actually decided to fall asleep at a "decent " hour last night :P

Cute! Mine were like that with a little less brown, I think. And no fluffy beard. :/

I'm winning the duck war...both parents say yes, and I'm so close to getting some eggs!!

Interesting. Huh. That's cool.

:lau Hey if you can create a breed that's small but lays large eggs, go for it!

Yeah! They're pretty impressive. Most of them lay some of the biggest eggs in my flock pretty consistently. And they eat less! Friendly, hardy, decent broodies, pretty...lot of good stuff in them.

I have one that lays the prettiest blue eggs, I'm trying to create a strain like her.

Bat girl, the nicest bsl I've ever had, used to lay eggs that were 75+ grams every. Single. Egg. And she NEVER laid a double yolker :th the poor chicken

WHOA! I don't think any of mine lay eggs that big...at least not consistently. I usually get eggs between 40-50 grams. Pullet eggs are smaller.
