Troyergals Chat Thread!!!

So what I sorta conjured up:
Somewhere in the long ladder of genes, a mutation occurs in a dominant gene, and that dominant gene is passed on to the duckling by one of its parents, and if the crest mutation is dominant in that duckling, a crest appears?
Don't judge me- it's almost 11 AM, but after haven't getting more than 6 hours of sleep each nights for the past four nights, I feel like I'm dead.....

Something like that, however here's what I've seen, three out of my four drakes are crested, in my first batch I hatched 18 ducklings and I think maybe 4 showed a crest BUT I have yet to get a Swede with a crest and my Swedish drake is crested so yeah I would think his offspring would have crests but so far nope. (Okey that might change when this next batch hatches)

Okay, Dan, you're the duck king. (At least, while Bills isn't on..... and I'm probably going to edit this post out as soon as you read it... :gig )

How does the crested mutation happen in non-crested breeds? :idunno Is a specific gene? Or a cluster of genes?

LOL

Quoted so bills see this :P [@=/u/443558/Bills-vs-Beaks]@Bills vs Beaks[/@]

Phew. Bills didn't decide to explode me with a bomb after all.

Oh, wait.
He's in NJ and I'm in PA.
If he bombed me, he'd probably explode himself.
