Troyergals Chat Thread!!!

So according to my research she's about 18 weeks old, that's when they usually ship layers off to new facilities. Also according to my research the leghorn hybrids (which is what she is) usually start laying around twenty weeks. I guess we'll see if she does or not without the artificial lighting. Her comb is actually a bit bigger and redder than it was on Saturday.

Spent all day working for uncles. Been gone since about 9:00 and I finally come home to find that there's a strange chicken foraging with the ducks. Appearently when they unloaded a new batch of laying pullets across the road last night one got out, I have to hand it to her because for a chicken house chicken her crop is pretty full. Also one of the cleanest chicken house chickens I've ever seen. Not sure what I'm gonna do with her, don't think we'll take her back but I don't know where I'll put her for quarantine.

Only thing of importance is first two quotes.

Ya'll remember we bought three kits (gonna be breeders) a few weeks ago? Well, this morning one died. We didn't have pellets for them yesterday, and were low before that, plus this one was kind of a runt. And my favorite. Anyway.

My family doesn't want to feed pellets at all, because of GMOs in them. Which I understand. But we can't just switch like that. My parents are like, what do rabbits eat in the wild? Grass!

IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT!!! :he Yes, they can eat a lot of grass. In fact of their diet should be hay/grass or whatever. And yes if we get enough variety and the proper nutrients for them we won't need pellets. But we don't, and we're gonna lose them if they aren't fed properly!

I don't know what to do anymore.
