Hallo!

Today Chipmunk and Lupin finally joined the rooster flock! At first, the other roosters kept pecking them, so I put them in a cage in the rooster pen for the night. Then, in the morning I let them out and they were fine! All the other roosters seem to have accepted them.

Good that they accepted them!

Man its hot here!

What do you mean?

Basically, the point of purebred chickens is to keep a set of genes pure and separate from others. When you mix breeds, down the line you can and often do lose those genes. I'm not saying it's bad to mix chickens, but purebreds are good and quite necessary to keep genetic diversity alive.
