TSC Chick Days!

TSC in our area sells out the same day they get the chicks

I just picked up 12 at one of the TSC near me. I got 6 cornish rocks 2 red sex links 1 black sex link and 3 ducklings. I am ok with the 12 chick minimum lol it means I HAVE to get more lol I have 3 tractor supplys near me and im a regular at 2 of them. I will most likely getting more. I cant go to TSCwith out leaving with some. its a good thing I just built a barn haha

I went against the urge to rush into it and went to the local Agway instead.
All the TSC stores were either out or only had strait run or red/black star link. I was not satisfied with the selection, so I ordered 3 Rhode reds 3 Barred rock and 2 Red Star. I found some craigslist ads for Orps and Brahmas, but I will wait til next year or so to get into that, plus the Agway chix are sexed and $2 each the Orps and Brahmas were on Craigslist are $8 each.
So $16 for 8 chicks is a good bargain. Now I just gotta wait til April 27th...which it like 10 years away. But I still have to build a coop after the snow melts, and we are going to Disney with Grampa Bob in early April..so waiting was a good decision. I brought my 2 daughters to the TSC and they were doing backflips over the chics they are very excited..Prolly more than going to Disney!! lol!

SpeckledHen - they did take my name and address when I got 6 chicks. I'm a newbie - I just did what they asked.

Didn't even ask why.... now that you mention it. I'm not normally so glib but I was excited about my new purchase. Thinking back I probably woulda told them my shoe size if they asked. LOL

Yep, they asked for name and address. When I asked why, they said that it was in case there was a "recall" on the chicks? Such as illness, etc. Dunno, this was my first time buying chicks, lol

I bought a bunch of chicks (cornish rock, red pullets, "ameraucanas") yesterday and nobody asked for my name/address. I guess it must depend on the location. Or maybe the employees at my TSC are just lazy buggers.

They don't ask at any of the TSC here for information. They said they used to but it is not longer TSC policy.
But then again they already have mine since I have a farm number and don't want to pay taxes.
