TSC ducks- need breed i.d.

I have a hand operated siphon pump from Harbor Freight. Almost indestructible, it works kinda like a bicycle pump.I will pump it out at the same time the hose is running at the bottom to keep the muck suspended. Also the pool lifts out pretty easy if we need to.
Sounds cool! Great set-up by the way!

Boy-O-boy, I hope you don't drink from that hose! :sick
Then again, when I think of all the animals I drank after as a kid, it's a wonder I made it to adulthood! :D

Somewhere on this computer I have a neat design a youtuber came up with. Stock tank on a wagon with a 2" valve solar powered and controlled. And figured out how long to leave the valve open to clean out the pool. He just runs a hose to where he wants the sludge to go.

Oh mercy! I know you dont have to worry about me drinking that! It will probably be used as fertilizer! We had a well for livestock and irrigation when I was growing up in NM. I must have drunk 100 gallons from it, we watered our horses with that water, and I always thought that if it's good enough for them its okay for me!

Please post it if you can find it! I need all the help I can get!

Our TSC in Dallas, GA had tons of ducks and chicks the other day. My husband went there for something else and asked if I wanted to go. I said NO, under no circumstances should I enter that store for any reason!

I am currently banned from TSC ... by MY CHILDREN! I am not allowed to enter TSC (or any other place that sells chicks) unattended until Chick Days are officially over and the signs come down. The last time I went for feed, no one was free to go along. My daughter offered me the leash, with our border collie/setter mix on the other end of it. The logic was that, with Skye in the car and me busy driving, there would be no one to protect the flimsy box from the crazy bird-dog. After a weak refusal and a good chuckle, I took the dog. I know my limitations!

:lau OMG you guys are hysterical!!!

I know how you feel, I know they dont like it when you point out problems, but we're in it for the critters not the popular opinion. Dont think I'm very popular at the new petsmart for that very reason. :hmm

Guilty as charged, as well!

Exactly why I could never work there lol my parents keep saying I should work there since I love animals so much and I’m like yeah.... no... thankfully ours usually takes pretty good care of the animals and they usually have pretty clean cages and I have rarely seen sick or dead animals so they do care BUT my big thing is they sell all those tiny, overpriced cages for the birds and rodents that are no good for anything and I cannot subject the animals to such tiny and imo cruel cages. Or subject sociable animals like the guinea pigs and parakeets to being alone. Especially alone and in a tiny cage. No way. Not happening. They keep being like oh you don’t have to agree to work there/sell that stuff, you could do it. And I’m like yeah, I do have to agree, because I’m not going to compromise my morals or the animal’s health and happiness just to sell some stupid cage and make them more money lol granted, those animals and those cages are going to be sold either way and people just don’t know and will buy them anyway, so I suppose I may as well work there, and at least educate people on better care but still. That makes more work for myself and some people won’t listen or be willing to do it anyway lol sad but true. But I cannot work there and contribute to that.

Also one time I told someone about a fish that was missing it’s tail and was struggling to swim (I think it got chopped off in the filter or something) and he came over and looked and found the fish I was talking about and was just like “we can’t do anything. We just have to wait for it to die.” Granted he was a kid and probably had no control over it, probably just policy, but still. With those kind of cruel policies, no way I can ever work there.

OMG! That's hysterical! :gig

X2

This is the eventual home for the little runners:

The tub is just temporary housing until we build the duck coop. We thought we were getting a breeding pair from a guy that didnt work out.

Nice home for them!!! Looks great!!

I'm with you, there! The only way I could work in a place like that is if I could have free rein to educate people ... and you know THAT's not gonna be allowed! I guess I'll stick with my day job & educate through my school and 4H soap boxes.
