What is an APA and ABA group?

American poultry assc and american bantam assc.

The APA ( American Poultry Association) and The ABA ( American Bantam Association) Youth Group Has 4 levels A young person fulfil to complete the A.C.E. ( Activities, Competition, Education) program.
There are 4 levels: Pre-juniors called the PEEWEE level ages 5-7 only. Then they advance onto the 1st level; Coop Tender, 2nd level; Flock Tender, 3rd level; Flock Master and 4th level is Poultry Master. When all of the levels have been achieved the student is invited to enter the "Youth Apprenticeship Judges Program" which must be completed by age 25.
Children can enter the program at any age.

What a great opportunity for our younger generation to get involved in raising and showing poultry.

A young person doesn't need to own poultry, waterfowl to join. As a child progresses and would like to own poultry to show, we would be asking show people for a donation of a bird for the project. It is Educational and a fun way to learn to be competitive.

The APA & ABA Youth Group is more advanced than the 4 H groups, giving children more of an advantage. A child can use his/her A.C.E. prgram as a reference if they should attend college or to enter the work place.

If you know of someone who would be interested in the program, please have them email me @ [email protected].

In order for me to do this program, I will have a background check done by the state of Maine.

Are there any others in the state of maine that are a existing group already ? How did you come by this information -- is there a website or is it through the American Bantam Club and American Poultry Club that the information is at ? I'm sure there are several people that may be interested in starting a group in there areas that have children . My son will be 5 in june and I'm looking for a 4h club in our area that is already existing - I'm in the franklin county area - he has several interests at this time from his goats to his chickens he also loves growing things . If anyone has a club going at this time that we may visit please email me [email protected] . I do understand he cann't join till his 5th birthday -- that's not far away (JUNE) he is growing so fast . I'm also 20 min. from augusta so would be willing to travel in that direction . ~~~ thanks ~~`Tammy
