If anyone has used colloidal silver as an antibiotic in their chickens water, what dose did you use?

I don't usually add it to the water, I usually am only treating one chicken at a time and for chicks 1 drop 4x per day for adults 1/4 tsp 4x per day (I don't usually make it to 4x but I try).

When I've done it in the water I usually do two droppers in a quart jar, I think my dropper holds just under 1 tsp.

Hi there! My name is Linda and we live at 46th and Peoria, with 3 hens- about to be 5 (ordering more next month) We have not had any incidents with hawks, although I have seen them in the area. I think the fact that our backyard is heavily shaded with trees helps to keep them from being able to swoop down. The girls also have three protective guard dogs, so I think that helps Anyway, if you have any other questions about keeping chickens in midtown- just let me know! That also is a nice area. There is another chicken owner on 35th just east of Riverside. Really nice guy. He is on the FB Group Urband Farming Guild of Tulsa, if you are into FB.

Yay! I happily added 4 more black tailed buff marans laying hens to my flock today. Love those dark brown eggs!

For some reason I read the city ordinances as allowing 6 "hens" but after re-reading it, it says adults. Do any of you mid-towners have roos or do you stick with hens? I'd like to have a roo but don't want to risk the ire of my potential neighbors. I think I'll ask around the neighborhood before I make that decision

And since it's talking about "poultry" and not specifically "chickens" I can have a turkey if I want! This is getting better all the time!

My understanding is that Tulsa allows hens only. I have not read the ordinance myself. If your neighbors don't mind a rooster I know a lot of people who do manage to keep one. BUT if a neighbor complains to the city you will be forced to relocate him. Might start with chicks or just hens first, share some eggs with your neighbors, THEN broach the topic of a rooster.

Here it just says adults but I will keep checking. And yes that's probably the best way to introduce chickens to the neighborhood lol. Thanks!
