I have a 5 month old Welsummer rooster that has spasms that cause his head to rub his back in the stargazing position. I've been reading all I can find about it and one site recommended making a tumeric tea. I was wondering if anyone had tried it and if it works like they say.

I lost a rooster to this condition last year and I really hope to save this one so I can hatch purebred chicks. I tried the tumeric tea this morning by forcing it in his throat with an eyedropper. I also have vitamin E in his water. Any suggestions or information about this would be greatly appreciated.

Rye neck isn't caused by a turmeric deficiency. It's cause by a vitamin E deficiency. You certainly may add turmeric to the vitamin E therapy, but turmeric alone isn't going to improve anything.

The dose needs to be E 400iu by mouth once a day until the condition is resolved. You need to add a half a tab of selenium to improve the uptake of the E 400iu.
